If the darkness covers me

If the darkness covers me 
And light about me be night 
In my sadness you shall be 
Bright as immaculate light.

If in gloom I cannot see 
How bright he has made my day 
I trust he’s full of mercy
He sees and directs my way

If my body refuses 
To rise on a sunny day 
Even my bed he uses 
To comfort and make me stay

If I say, “night will prevail
My doom is but delayed”
The doom of devils will fail
To tarnish what God has made.
